This year our annual Acoustic Café was kicked off with a traditional Ethiopian Coffee ceremony with coffee, popcorn and Ethiopian music. This gave us a nice chance to meet and welcome some of the young (16-19 year old) East African and Iraqi people that now live in Exeter.
We had 6 great musicians playing a variety of contemporary, folk, flamenco and even some comedy songs. It was a lovely relaxed evening. Despite the super hot sunny weather, we raised a fantastic £500 for Exeter-Ethiopia Link, which will go directly towards our work in Nekemte.
Huge thanks to all those who came along, especially to Jeff and all the musicians who played, Chris the sound man and to all EEL members who came, contributed and helped on the night.
Hope to see you next year….
